High in the Sky with WhiteStickSips
The breathtaking panoramic view from the 19th Floor of the Westin Executive Club was the backdrop for the first WhiteStickSips restaurant tasting. The spectacular view entertained our eyes while we sipped on complementary Moët & Chandon. The treats did not end at the Moët and Eben Nel, the food and beverage manager of the Westin Grand spoiled us rotten. A variety of cheeses welcomed us to the table and we experienced 5 star service at it’s best. The wines represented this grand establishment to the tee and we could not ask for a better place to start our blind-tasting adventures.
These are the wines that we blind tasted and my personal ratings:
Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc ’08: 15/20
Bouchard Finlayson Kaaimansgat Chardonnay ’08: 17/20
Hamilton Russell Chardonnay ’08: 16/20
Kumkani VVS Viognier/Verdehlo/Sauvignon Blanc ’05: 18.5/20
Kanonkop Paul Sauer ’05: 15/20
Veenwouden Merlot ’05: 14/20
Thelema The Mint Cabernet Sauvignon ’05: 16/20
Radford Dale Shiraz ’04: 17/20
If my life had a replay button, I would pick this experience as one to repeat.
